G1-GOV-1 – The role and expertise of the administrative, management and supervisory bodies in relation to corporate governance
Within their respective functions and responsibilities, Rentenbank’s Management Board and Supervisory Board play a key role in shaping and overseeing Rentenbank’s governance and management. Their individual and collective expertise is of central importance in this regard.
As Rentenbank’s highest management body, the Management Board is responsible for its management. It consists of experienced managers with extensive expertise in establishing and maintaining sound frameworks and standards of corporate governance and corporate culture. The Management Board is supported by direct reporting channels from relevant functions and organisational units, such as the compliance function.
In performing their duties, the members of the Management Board can draw on many years of experience in management positions at financial institutions. The CVs of the members of the Management Board are available on Rentenbank’s website.
The Supervisory Board monitors and advises the Management Board on the direction and implementation of corporate policy. Together with the Management Board, the Supervisory Board adopts the annual declaration of conformity with the German Public Corporate Governance Code.
The composition of the Supervisory Board is determined by Rentenbank’s Governing Law. The members’ experience in politics, agriculture and the financial sector enables the Supervisory Board to effectively monitor and advise the Management Board with regard to Rentenbank’s business model and its promotional mandate.
