S1-10 – Adequate wages
Principles of remuneration
Rentenbank structures the remuneration of its employees on the basis of clear, transparent and non-discriminatory principles. The remuneration system applicable to all employees is designed to ensure adequate wages on the basis of transparent criteria and within a standardised legal and collectively agreed framework.
Rentenbank’s risk-averse business model, its public-law legal form and its competitive neutrality are also reflected in Rentenbank’s remuneration system. Rentenbank applies a purely fixed remuneration system for all employees and members of the Management Board.
Adequacy and legal framework
Through the application of collective agreement provisions and remuneration components outside collective agreements, the remuneration of all employees is based on binding reference values. There is no remuneration below statutory minimum standards.
As Rentenbank operates exclusively in Germany, all employees are subject to the same stringent labour and social security provisions.
Classification in the context of social responsibility
The remuneration principles outlined form part of a broader understanding of fair working conditions. In addition to adequate wages, other elements such as social protection and security in different phases and situations of life contribute to Rentenbank’s social responsibility towards its employees.
Against this background, section S1-11 – Social protection describes how Rentenbank ensures reliable social protection for its employees on the basis of the statutory social security system and supplementary company benefits.
