S1-6 – Characteristics of the undertaking’s employees
Methodological principles for determining metrics
The information on Rentenbank’s own workforce is based on data from Rentenbank’s internal HR systems. Structural characteristics of the workforce, such as the number of employees, gender distribution and forms of employment, are determined as at the reporting date of 31 December.
Movement-related metrics such as the employee turnover rate are calculated on the basis of appropriate averages in order to reflect changes in the workforce over the reporting year accurately.
As a general rule, Rentenbank reports employee figures on a headcount basis. In addition, full-time equivalents (FTEs) are used to illustrate the actual volume of employment.
Only employees with an active employment relationship who are included in current payroll accounting are covered by the reported employee figures. Members of the Management Board, trainees, interns and employees with inactive employment contracts, for example during parental leave, are not included. These groups are recorded separately in internal HR reporting and are not part of the operational headcount. Where individual metrics require a different definition of the employee groups covered, this is stated explicitly for the respective metric.
Size and composition of the workforce
As at 31 December 2025, Rentenbank employed a total of 492 people. Of these 492 employees, no employees with the gender entry “Other” or without a specified gender were recorded in the HR system. In addition to headcount, the number of employees is also reported in full-time equivalents (FTEs). As of 31 December 2025, the workforce amounted to 457.4 FTEs.

Employee turnover
Rentenbank recorded 36 employee departures in the reporting year. This figure includes all terminations of employment relationships during the reporting year. The employee turnover rate was 7.7% and was calculated using the total number of departures as the numerator and the average headcount for the reporting year (468) as the denominator. For the purposes of sustainability reporting, the calculation is carried out in accordance with ESRS requirements and therefore includes all departures regardless of their cause. This methodology differs from the calculation used in other Rentenbank publications.
