S1-14 – Health and safety metrics
Occupational health and safety at Rentenbank is based on the provisions of the German Occupational Safety and Health Act, the relevant regulations of the German Social Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung; DGUV) and other applicable statutory provisions. The related tasks, responsibilities and processes are embedded in the organisation and form the framework for the systematic management of work-related risks.
The Occupational Health and Safety Committee supports occupational health and safety at an institutional level. Participants include the Staff Council, the Safety Officer, the representative body for severely disabled employees and employer representatives.
Occupational health and safety comprise a range of preventive instruments and measures aimed at identifying and assessing potential risks.
Risk assessments
Rentenbank carries out risk assessments for all areas of activity and updates them as required. Additional workplace inspections help to identify potential hazards at an early stage and to derive appropriate measures.
Ergonomics and occupational health care
Ergonomic advice is intended to reduce work-related strain and support preventive ways of working. Regular training and instruction, tailored to job profiles and technological developments, help to raise employees’ awareness of health- and safety-related matters.
Occupational health screening forms an integral part of the occupational health and safety system and supports the early identification of health risks.
Health-promoting programmes
In addition, health promotion programmes are in place that address various aspects of exercise, nutrition and mental health. A Health Day is held once a year, comprising information on health and nutrition, health-related checks and exercise activities, as well as preventive aspects of occupational health and safety. In addition, employees are offered a voluntary annual influenza vaccination by the company doctor and the option of leasing company bicycles, supporting healthy mobility in everyday life.
